Funded by the Ford Foundation in September, 2008, “Progressive Religious Voices: New Priorities and Shifting Alliances” is a three-year project. The goals are:
- To assess the changing mood of the United States as reflected in the 2008 presidential election, and subsequent election of Barack Obama;
- To examine progressive movements currently, especially within the large American religious populations, namely African-American, Moderate Evangelical Protestant; Jewish, Mainline Protestant, Muslim, and Roman Catholic;
- To explore priorities among social justice issues and potential alliances for advocacy among religious and non-religious constituencies.
